The Closet Wild Woman

They are everywhere.

Women wanting to be wild.

Women claiming to be wild.

Women who are wild.

Women who had been wild before.

Women too scared to be wild. But who still wish they were wild.

And women, like me, who wonder – what is wild??

What is this fascination with being wild? This desire to belong to a group of people who ironically, do not want to belong??

At the heart, perhaps we are all wild. Maybe we all just wild differently.

Because that is the thing about being wild – it is different.

It is unique.

Not prescribed.

Free, independent, unconstructed.

…to do what we want to do.

…to be what we want to be.

Or not. Not to do, or not to be, if we do not want to.

For those who want to follow rules, so be it.

For those who want to break rules, so be it.

For those who do not care about the rules, so be it.

Of course, the question is who makes the rules?

So, if we all wild in our own wild way, are we still wild??

‘Cos then it’s not unique, is it?

If we are all free, are we still free?? How would we know if we are free, if freedom is not a ‘thing’?

(And isn’t that exactly the concept of duality – to learn and to know through contrast?)

If we all are wild, would we still want to be wild?

What is wild anyway??

And can we take wildness even further?

Can we be wilder?

Can we be so wild that we are not Wild anymore?

Can we be so wild that we are satisfied with – no, scrap that, not satisfied with – but wild about – the ordinary, the mundane, the NOT different?

So wild about the boring, every-day stuff, that we become wild again!!

When, way past the sell-by date of Wild, once we have given up trying to be wild, Wild has just become tame. No longer different.

And so, the only ones who remain wild is the ones wishing they were wild.

And never was.

Or so they believe.

If only they knew….

In the meantime, let me be wild.

Let me be wild alone.

Let me be wild with others.

Let me Just. Be. Wild.

Here’s to the Wild Woman.
