You can stop trying now. You can stop trying to prove yourself, to exert so much effort to show that you can, that you are able to. You can stop pushing to gain acknowledgement, admiration, or approval. Or, god forbid, to ‘show them’.
You can rest.
Not on your laurels, but from the incessant waste of energy to overcome, to endure, to test, to prove. Your task is to use that energy that will be freed up once you stop, in a different way.
To share, to experience, and to serve. To inspire, and to lead. To play, and to flow. And, with every fibre of your being, to expand, and to fully embody who you really are.
Do you know what that means, dear human??
I guess not. So maybe, for now, just stand back.
Just look. Perhaps, tilt your head to one side and look at YOU. The little You hoping for approval, for acceptance, for love. Notice the energy spent from a place of trying to earn your space, from the little you who believe they are separate.
If you have it in you, gently smile upon this little You – the small, innocent one that is trying so hard.
The tough cookie You, that shakes off the dust when she falls and heads straight into the next challenge, to prove.
The bitchy You spitting venom when she feel threatened and thinks she needs to prove.
The bone-weary tired You that just wants to escape the drama, but still has to prove.
Perhaps you see, underneath all this, the You that just longs for love.
Now when you see her, give her a hug, and hold her, feel her.
And ever so gently, put her down, dust off her clothes, and fix her hair.
Let her know that she can rest. That you, the older and wiser one, will take over now.
And then, dust off your own clothes, straighten your shoulders, face forward, smile, and get to work.
There is no more time to have your energy usurped by those parts of you that feel insecure. The parts that want to prove.
We need you here. Fully!
And if the little one, the one that may still believe she’s got to prove, battle, fight, or hide, when she appears (and she will!), gently smile, and let her watch. Don’t chase her away, but make it clear that she is not to interfere.
You’ve got work to do.
